Albuquerque, NM – Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas issued the following statement in
remembrance of the thousands of people who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September,
11th, 2001:
“Today, we remember the thousands of innocent men, women and children whose lives were cut
short by the cowardly and vicious attacks on our nation 17 years ago. One of the darkest days in
American history, September 11th, 2001, also showcased to the world what true American
bravery and heroism looks like. Brave first responders ran into burning buildings, and saved
countless lives. Selfless passengers on United Flight 93 rushed the cockpit of a hijacked flight,
and crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, saving countless more. Those acts of bravery, and the
lives taken on that tragic day, will never be forgotten.”
