Violence Against Women Division
The VAW Division is designed to provide training, mentorship and to set standards
for the professional response to sexual assault,
stalking, and domestic violence.
To adequately address violence we must maximize our response whenever a victim is
courageous enough to seek assistance. Attorney General King’s staff is available
to provide training to law enforcement, and prosecution statewide in order to ensure
that every victim is greeted with sensitivity and competence.
Referrals and Assistance
VAW also provides referrals and assistance to all domestic violence and sexual assault
crime victims and direct services to all cases prosecuted within the Violence Against
